FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR.

ON WHAT TO EXPECT SATURDAY NIGHT:

Mayweather:  “I’m in tremendous shape, you know, I’m ready to fight. I had a good training camp, and you know I’m still learning.  I’m still growing, not just, of course not physically, but I’m growing mentally and I’m ready to fight. What else can I say.”

ON PEOPLE SAYING IN THE FIRST FIGHT HIM TAKING TOO MANY PUNCHES:

Mayweather: “Well I didn’t. If you go back and look at the punch stats, actually I think he threw like 800 or 900 punches and landed less punches than I did.  I didn’t even throw half as many punches as he did, so my defense was tight, and were going to have a great game plan.

ON IF HE’S UPSET BY MAIDANA SAYING HE CAN TAKE HIS PUNCHES:

Mayweather:  “I don’t really worry about that. I try to focus on myself. I know for me to be 46-0, I been doing something right, so you know, we’ll just see how the fight play out, you know come Saturday.”

ON IF’S THE RUMORS OR TRUE HIM RETIRING AFTER 2 MORE FIGHTS:

Mayweather: “Right now that’s the way I’m feeling, you know, but we don’t really know what the future holds for Floyd Mayweather, but um that’s how I been feeling lately.”

Chino Marcos Maidana

ON HOW THIS FIGHT WILL BE DIFFERENT THIS TIME AROUND:

Maidana: “You know I’m very well prepared, this time around, I know I’m ready. Floyd’s not use to giving rematches. I got this great opportunity. I know him already, and that’s going to be a big advantage for me.”

ON FADING IN 2ND HALF OF FIRST FIGHT?

Maidana: ” This time around, I’m well prepared again, I’m going to pace myself this time around. I’m not going to waste punches. I’m going to pick and choose my punches, but I’m going to have a good hard steady pace.”

ON MAYWEATHERS TEAM SAYING HE’S GOING TO KNOCK MAIDANA OUT:

Maidana: What can I say, nobody ever knocked me out before, I been dropped, but no one’s ever knocked me out, but that’s good he’s thinking that way.  If he has an opportunity to knock me out, I hope he takes advantage of it, because I will.”

ON THOUGHTS IF FIGHT WILL GO THE DISTANCE AGAIN:

Maidana: “Look ahh, I’m ready for anything. I’m ready for 12 rounds. I’m ready to get the stop, If I land the right punch.  But more importantly, I’m ready for anything, and if it’s going to go 12 rounds, I’m ready for that.”

ANALYZEDSPORTS.COM MAYWEATHER VS. MAIDANA 2 PREDICTION:

I predict Floyd to win the fight easily in a 12 round unanimous decision.  Can Maidana get lucky and land the perfect punch to get the upset?  Yes, but Floyd is extremely motivated for this fight. He’s going to be on his A game, and will look for the opportunity to get the knock out to end any doubts that he’s the best ever.
